Deep tissue Rebalancing

Working on the life energy flow

Our bodies are holding tensions and past trauma, together with vibrations of life energy. Experiences, emotions, and thoughts shape our posture and body awareness.

Touch and movement on the muscles and fascias can reveal unconscious patterns and trigger emotions stored in our system.

The objective is to restore flexibility and the natural flow of energy

Through Rebalancing, the client comes into contact with sensations and spaces within himself, some of which he has not perceived for a long time. Awareness brings us closer to our inner center to enables us to live life more spontaneously and meaningfully.

Rebalancing helps us better understand ourselves and our hidden potentials.

This form of body therapy is a synthesis of different techniques such as:

  • Sensitive deep tissue manipulation and fascia release
  • Joint mobilization and release
  • CranioSacral technics
  • Breathing work

General approach:

Rebalancing is made of a series of ten sessions with usually several weeks between each session.

Each session is complete in itself and will address different life topics that are associated with the corresponding areas of the body. Individual areas of the body reflect how we deal with related life issues:

  • Session 1 – Inspiration: Focusing on the chest for deeper breathing. The diaphragm releases will allow more energy with better inspiration, straightening, and expression.
  • Session 2 – Grounding and Understanding: Feet and legs session for being more rooted in life. Feel with trust the carrying effort and support. Stand on your own, stand on your feet.
  • Session 3 – Relate to the sides: Shoulders, rib cage, and hip muscles releasing session. About giving, receiving, and taking from life as well as being in contact with our boundaries.
  • Session 4 – Inner legs & Pelvic floor: Massage focusing on the inside leg muscles and the connections to the pelvis. Find more support on the lower back with flexibility and balance in life.
  • Session 5 – The Core: Belly and stomach massage with psoas relaxation. Feelings are coming from the middle, we must learn to trust your gut feelings. The core help to realign by finding ways to let go of deep emotions.
  • Session 6 – Being Upright: Focused on the deep muscles of the back, backside, and legs. This session can release back pain with an experience of sincerity, restraint vs lean back.
  • Session 7 – Last place of holding: A session with massages on neck, head, and face. Encounter authenticity, orientation, change, to reveal our true face.
  • Session 8 – Left-Right Balance, “Inner Man / Inner Woman”: Integration session, like two pages front & back, joining, merging, and refine.
  • Session 9 – Above and below, “New balance is created”: Integration session, like two pages up & down, joining, merging, and refine.
  • Session 10 – From division to wholeness – “Integration begins”: Last integration session, harmony, wholeness, silence, perceiving here and now. In tune with the world (final integration).

As I experienced it myself, I can confirm that it’s a journey through body awareness, can bring profound changes in life.

Origin and Philosophy:

Rebalancing has been developed in India in the late 1970s in the Osho Commune in Poona.

Many therapists, experts from different disciplines, developed this new form of bodywork including Neo-Reichian Body Therapy, Tragering, Alexander Technique, Postural Integration, Feldenkrais, Rolfing, etc.

They took the best from each practice, adding awareness and meditativeness as a central approach.

This form of bodywork sees the body as a gift and not as a mechanism that needs to be “repaired”. In the philosophy of Rebalancing, the body is made of an intrinsic core and an extrinsic sleeve. The core corresponds to the “being”, the sleeve to the “doing”. In this vision, the aim is to bring balance and integration to the whole, working with the left and the right side, the upper and the lower side, the front, and the back, as well as the inner and the outer, the being and the doing.

The flow of a session:

At the beginning and the end of a rebalancing session, a small body reading took place. Clients standing casually in the room, describe themselves and how they feel in their body.

The client will be requested to remove some clothes keeping the underwear. During the session, the client lies on the massage table and will stay under a sheet for great comfort.

Rebalancing is a deep tissue massage, including deep stroke, pressure and can be painful. It is not about falling totally into relaxation. It is more of a collaborative work since the giver needs to keep in contact with the receiver during the session.
